A New Start and New Beginning
A Start and New Beginning
Starting to revive old blogs and in hopes to better myself in the
process of developing the necessary skill sets need to maintain and gain
the experience needed in the industry I want to make my career. This
starts with a realization of the need for discipline and perseverance in the face of ever impossible odds. Being that I am still a college student and on the verge of financial collapse, I make this blog as a way of helping me achieve some sense of achievement when it comes to my work. This blog will be a documentation of my daily research, exercises and a log of errors and solutions to my day to day dealings. Will you join me?
Hardware Update
An update from what my build was during the time of starting this blog is a great place to begin. I will speak on the evolution of my development build over the past two years, as much has changed and been realized during this time period. I have learned a lot from my personal experiences these past two years and learned to make my build as efficient and cost effective as possible.
My current upgrade consists of an HP Omen - W2N34UA-ABA, this is my current and only hardware. In comparison to the 2003 17in MacBook Pro that I was using when I first started posting on this blog, it is a dramatic and needed upgrade. I was able to cut down on both weight and increase my performance significantly. Here are the specs in comparison to one another for a better idea;
HP Omen
CPU 2.3Ghz Intel Core i5-6300HQ
SSD SansDisk 960GB
RAM 8 GB of DDR4
GPU Dedicated (4GB) nVidia GeForce GTX 960M -
On-Board (Shared) Intel HD Graphics 530
SSD SansDisk 960GB
RAM 8 GB of DDR4
GPU Dedicated (4GB) nVidia GeForce GTX 960M -
On-Board (Shared) Intel HD Graphics 530
2003 17in MacBook Pro
CPU 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
SSD SansDisk 960
RAM 6GB of DDR2
GPU GeForce GT 260
This was a big leap in comparison to one anther. Learning how to better utilize this new resource proved to be somewhat of a challenge. As living in a car and going back and forth between multiple place made keeping te MacBook 2007 a very obvious decision. Though I didnt''t expect a few drawbacks from my decision to make this purchase. I was looking forward to the upgrade but was not expecting how poorly constructed and difficult to carry around, especially in school.
What is difficult about this new machine is that it is slowly but surely losing the charge on the battery, hopefully it will last me longer than the previous upgrade to which it was rendered useless after the cost of the battery negated the purpose of expandability. On top of the that being a reason for abandoning the omputer, there was also the case of the size of the laptopn and it's weight. I could not fathom walking up a minimum of 16 staircases going from the class to my car.
Though, I believe that this year will be a better year for my development career. I recently started a Web Hosting Company, Cogs Web Development and Hosting. The server hosting the site and domain name are held hostage until I finish paying of these last two months of service. I am mainly consisting of myself to run all the operations of this business which on top of homework, keeps me readily on my toes. I have failth that reviving this blog will help me become a better API writer, better developer and all the foundations to build a successful Web Hosting busiess..
