March 24, 2015

Today is obviously the 24th of March but to me that means that there is only six more days until my Mother's birthday so I want to come up with some sort of gift to give to her for her birthday. Today though was quite an interesting day. I went out to the city of Spokane to earn a little bit of money from donating Plasma to pay the bills in a timely fashion. Sometimes you have do what you have to do. I'm simply following the advice that richer people have been telling me for the past couple of years. By rich people, I'm talking six figures and above. The advice they have been given me are as follows:

1) Poor people have only one source of income

- When I first heard this I couldn't really believe it then the person telling me this advice gave me a particular look, you know that look that your parents give you when they know your lying to them and yourself. Then it hit me that second, "I'm poor and I only have one source of income". So my goal is to attain multiple sources of income whether it be from Plasma, Android Development, Teaching, or Website Designing. I always make sure I have my, "Plans A-Z " as my father would say.

2) Stop being a victim

- For me personally this one piece of advice was somewhat hard to swallow especially considering I'm African-American, Indian, and a multitude of other races. Hearing this from someone who's Caucasian was kind of a slap to the face. My whole life I've grown up hating the "White Man" for all of the negative effects that they bring into the world and in America especially. Yet when I heard this advice I was like, "Man, he's right. Why should I hold back due to what other's might perceive me as." So I work as hard as I can to better myself and remove the negative stereotypes out of my life to become somewhat of an anomaly in my society in a positive way.

3) Be honest and humble

        - This one wasn't hard for me to implement after all I'm a horrible liar.

4) Use your money to make more money

        - This option became more clear to me once I started to use the money I would get into projects

that yield me more money. Especially when I started to get into the Stock market here in the

US. This taught me the difference between long term and short term investments and goals

And how to prioritize the two.

Life is full of great people and horrible people as well. Learning from both of the spectrum is what I enjoy doing because it teaches me how to balance myself to not become a horrible person or how to be a great person. I try my best not to seek greatness because, "If you ride like lightning, you'll crash like lightning".

Hopefully through this journey I call my life I will be able to achieve the greatness that I want to achieve and be able to solve some of the world's most challenging problems. After all my generation has to deal with all the mistakes the previous generation has and continues to make. I would rather not be the individual that has to be the one who takes the spotlight as the first and lead my generation to a higher understanding of the world because I know for a fact that I'm not the only one who thinks the way I do.

Till the next time we meet,

Aaron Jones
