Amazon Web Services and It's Certifications

Today and the previous day I have been caught up in learning a lot about Amazon Web Services and it's various certifications. I have set a goal in which I will be using the next couple of weeks to get pretty much all of the Associate Level Certifications in the aspirations of gaining employment for being either a Cloud Architect, Cloud Developer, or SysOps with conjunction to using the Amazon Web Services.

So far it's been interesting learning the information for the first exam I plan on taking next week which is the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate. Which when I do some digging around I find out that the average salary for someone who has this certification is roughly $114,935. Which is pretty cool considering that this will be my first official certification from a company. Of course I have thought about getting an A+ Certification as that would be ridiculously easy to obtain with a few refreshers to catch up to the 2016 version of the exam but I already use most of the knowledge covered in that exam on a daily basis so I don't really feel the need to get it. Maybe once I get a job with this certification I'll get it just to say that I got it. It's not really high on my priority list at the time being.

Amazon Web Services is an interesting cloud platform, they let you sign up for Free for an entire year which is really cool because you get to play around with all sorts of nifty tools like S3 and EC2 just to barely scratch the service on the different tools that are available. I honestly am thinking about transferring all my websites to the AWS Cloud for both learning experience and to see how much better it performs than on my current Server.

There are three exams that are covered in the AWS Associate level.

Those being as follows:

  1. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
  2. AWS Certified SysOps Administration Associate
  3. AWS Developer Associate
The average salary for each of these being in order by number:
  1. $114,935
  2. $108,046
  3. $137,825
I am hoping to get all those Associate Certifications by the end of the month but will be posting about my progress in using AWS in my personal life and seeing how well I can get things running and implemented when I make the transition to the cloud. I'm pretty excited as the variety of tools seem endless to build and customize various different applications and tools.

On the Developer Side of things I'm planning on creating Web Applications that can be easily ported to the Mobile Platform because it seems like that's the daily trend that's happening right now in the current state of things. People have gone so far as to call 2016 the year of Cloud Computing. Which bodes well for me as I learn more and more about AWS.
