Taxes the one thing that I Fear the Most (Not really though)
As tax season roles around the corner I find myself in somewhat of a pickle in which I'm learning how to file my taxes for the first time. Luckily I live in the generation that has been blessed with all sorts of Technology that helps expedite the Tax Refund Process. Though the free versions of the software to entail how to do the basic Employee Tax Return forms such as simply uploading your W2 forms or snapping it with a picture on your phone. I find it quick a pain to file the 1099-K form which I received from doing my Uber work.
Yes, I am one of those Uber Drivers but I guarantee I don't bite and I am quite pleasant once you get in the car with me. Though usually people taking Uber during the night time are usually really quiet or really drunk. It's an interesting perspective on life and makes on appreciate doing the deed even if some people are very stuck up toward you. The challenging part about working for Uber besides the constant pay cuts and nasty customers is taxes. I'm learning for the first time that filing taxes with Uber is really dreadful. Luckily there are plenty of online resources to get help from.
I just came across this post by a redditor by the name of SoCal_UberX who is literally the Messiah of taxes when it comes to filing your 1099-K. By delivering onto us the best thing possible, a spreadsheet that calculates the entire filing process with both Lyft and Uber Spreadsheets. It's a god send. I highly recommend anyone who is an Uber Driver or Lyft Driver to use these Spreadsheets to get your taxes done. Make life a little bit easier on yourself, after all you earned it.
