Using Mac OS X to Develop
As I mentioned in a blog post earlier that I am running a OS X machine now as my personal laptop. I have completely shifted gears back to OS X and as ashamed as I am to admit it have fallen back in love with this operating system. Over the past month I have slowly been able to gain traction on fully customizing this machine to my liking. In my personal opinion all OS X is, is Linux with Adobe Support. That's why I like using this Mac and not to mention I was able to get that SSD drive for this laptop making the performance skyrocket beyond expectations. I don't think I will be needing to replace this laptop for the next 10 years or so. None of my work really requires that much on the machine's end and I have 6GB soon to be 8GB of RAM soon. So nothing is really out of the ordinary when it comes this machine. Before hand it was kind of a drag to use since the Hard Drive was bogging down the performance pretty badly but that comes with inheriting a laptop that's been in the family for over 10 years.
I do plan on taking out the SuperDrive and replacing it with a hard drive caddy so that way I can expand the amount of storage space on this machine. That in itself is the only downside to my upgrade as I partitioned the drive into two entities. One for the OS X Operating System and the other for the Windows 7 Operating System that I am currently running at the moment. I only really use the Windows 7 Operating System as a way to play games which is what it really boils down to. But so far I'm enjoying the time that I get to spend on this machine developing and writing blogs and what not. It's been a pretty fun experience and my only gripe would be that I wish it had more snappy windows like in Linux Mint's Desktop Environment Cinnamon but unfortunately the only option I've found was something called HyperDock which pretty much worked as it was suppose too but comes at a price tag. I guess that shouldn't be a surprise when it comes to using Proprietary software but hey that would be really nice if they did implement that.
